First off, love PLEXamp and what its evolving into. Im still having a bit of a problem with it “popping” sometimes within the first 30 secs of the song. It seems when it has completed buffering the next song, it does the “popping” thing. The player also after about an hour starts breaking up and studdering. The only thing that fixes this is restarting the player. I know you guys are working on getting all this worked out (or at least hope you are)
That all being said, many of the features of PLEXamp are crazy cool. I love the way it takes the end of the song and beginning of the song and average out where to end one track and start another. I have been wondering if crossfading was ever going to come to the PLEX moble or web player. What PLEXamp does isnt exactly crossfading, its more like cross matching which in my opinion is MUCH better then crossfading. Kudos to the team for doing this.
The different radios that are in PLEXamp is something I have been wanting forever in a streaming service. Why is the PLEX way different? Bare with me a minute for an example. If I play one of those other streaming services, and lets say I pick the track Bad Company by the band Bad Company, I can pretty much gaurentee Whole Lotta Love by Led Zeppelin is next … My point is, its VERY predictable … VERY … When you use PLEX Mix from the PMS or PLEXamp, you really never can predict what your going to get, and that is the beauty of what the team has come up with. I hear songs that I havent heard in years from my library, and love them. Just because you pick a mainstream song, doesnt mean youll get a mainstream list, youll get some common and well known songs yes, but youll also get the unique and odd tracks thrown in there as well.
So, I know PLEX Labs is the side project of many people there at PLEX, but will all these features that I have immediatly been in awe of that the team has come up with, ever make it to the main PLEX players. For instance tha Adroid or iOS mobile apps, or the PLEX Media Player?
PLEXamp is a GREAT GREAT desktop addative, but I woud love to see the PLEX Lab team spread the features around to other players in the PLEX family.
Thanks for listening and keep up the great work PLEX Labs!
