Plex and samsung bluray.

Hello all,

If you’re reading my comment/question I have no doubt that you’ll realise I’m an out and out greenhorn…and I do find puzzle solving really frustrating especially when it involves ‘techno’ stuff like computers and tellies and phones etc…I hope someone has the patience to guide me to where I need to be and what to do. I My problem is a follows…and I stand to be corrected at any time…

My plex server is on my computer (I think). This is where I link with the player which is on my samsung bluray (I think). The bluray gives me the plex code and I type it into the computer so I hope what i’ve said is right?

I have Plusnet fibre broadband that downloads at 50+mbps and uploads at 12 mbps or thereabouts.

I have a VPN which is inbuilt into my asus router that runs along side the Hub…The final connection to my bluray is wired via the asus. There is quite a big difference in speeds from the Hub and the Asus but nevertheless I still get well over 25mbps download and around 6mbps upload…so roughly half…I would have thought these speed would be more than ample to cope with plex.

I use a premium/paid iptv server for all the content that I watch and listen to.
When I stream live tv …eg…horse racing the content will play superbly and smoothly but after 5 minutes or sometimes 10 minutes or should I just say intermittently the content will just stop playing and an error message occurs saying…‘There seems to be a problem…The requested stream could not be found’. Is this a common problem and can I put it right? Is the server at fault or the player at fault ?..or my iptv provider?

I do have another issue too with video playback …I cant play any video that has a higher resolution than 720p or 3mbps…all I get is the ‘buffering circle’ and constantly interrupted viewing if I try to play a 10mbps movie for example it just buffers all the time. Anyway this question could be addressed later under a different heading I suppose! If someone could help with the first question that would be greatly appreciated.
