Plex Android does not explain to a user that it cannot stream locally downloaded content

On more than one occasion when I have been attempting to use the plex mobile app I’ve been confounded as to why it refuses to stream to my chromecast-audio device.

It turns out that there’s something that makes this infeasible, but I don’t know what, and there seems to be very poor error handling/signaling this state to a user.

Casting or flinging downloaded content to another device is currently not supported.
