This started today right after the beta client updated on my S21 phone.
Steps are simple enough. Open app, select the search icon and type Elf. This should find the movie elf but app crashes and restarts.
Have tried a clear cache and data and made no difference.
Probably doesn’t help but same beta version search working for me on Pixel 3a Android 12
I wonder is the size of the libraries a factor? How big is your libraries? Mine has approx 3,000+ movies and 500+ shows.

@anon5074910 This is a tricky one unfortunately and we’ve been unable to pinpoint the exact cause of the crash yet.
We’ve added more logs to the latest beta ( 8.27.0.29651) in the hope that those will help us get to the bottom of the issue. Can you upgrade to that version, make the crash happen, and share logs again? Thanks in advance.

The new beta that we just released (v8.27.0.29730) contains the fix.

Beta dropped this morning and search looks good. Not had any crashes so far with text that was crashing the app before. Thanks.
