Plex app crashes when selecting a library

Symptoms:

  • Open Plex app
  • Tap “Libraries” bottom
  • Tap the drop down at the top left to try to switch Libraries
  • Plex app becomes unresponsive immediately and must be closed

Troubleshooting steps:

  • Tried restarting Plex server
  • Tried restarting iPhone
  • Tried uninstalling Plex app multiple times
  • Tried signing out/signing in

Plex app is essentially unusable on my iPhone currently. A resolution is needed for this issue urgently. I’m seeing many other posts on the forum with similar issues (and worse, it seems, on iOS 26).

Have you considered retesting after you upgraded your server to the current public release (version 1.42.2.10156)?

I was using 1.41.5.9626-72009626 since that was the version available in the Synology Package Center. I did go ahead and manually update to 1.42.2.10156 earlier today and the issue persists.
