Hi. I have a plex server on my Synology and LG TV with webOS 4.1. Everything is connected via 1Gbit cable. After 4.1 update I have the same buffering issue on Plex Client and alternative client. On my PC or mobile it works fine.

the issue exist only when SRT subtitles are selected.
you can upload the logs and maybe someone from Plex team will look at it.

best to enable the logs on the LG client also for more information.

uploading a new log with subtitles buffering issue on the early experiment LG plex client.
hope there are some hint inside to solve the issue.

I think now buffering start exactly after the first subtitle display time.

I don’t have any news about this specific issue, but Plex just recently released a new preview app that does things differently. This might help with your issues. Please give it a try. New LG webOS App Preview

I’ve been having the same problem for months, i’m not technically savvy particularly, all I know is that for the past few months none of my 4k movies will play - the start, and then buffering and i just give up. I find it remarkable that Plex cannot reproduce this issue when it seems so many with the LG TV are having a problem… I am hoping it gets resolved sooner or later, i’m undecided if the next step will be a new TV, a new computer to run Plex on, or just to move off Plex.

I would suggest trying a setting in the LG client.

Allow insecure connections - On same network as Server

if I opened the firewall port 32400 on my firewall installed on the Plex server host all is working.

port 32400 was not completely blocked. somehow it effect the network traffic between LG client and the PMS.
