Plex app not starting on Android device

Hello,

Since a few days, my Plex App in my OnePlus 8 does not start up. I’m not sure when it started because I don’t use the app too often.

It only goes so far to show the Plex logo, nothing else happens. I deleted the app data and reinstalled it, same issue. I have updated the server from 1.22.2.xxxx to the version mentioned above (latest version available in the repo of TrueNAS), no change. I cannot upload a log since I can’t even get into the settings. As of now, the app has not been setup, so I’m not logged into my account.

Using the browser on my phone to go to the local IP of the server works fine. Using the website to access it remotely doesn’t work in Chrome on my phone (same issue). Works fine on my PC in Chrome. The app on my TV running Android also works.

I don’t have any other devices to try out the app.

Any ideas what’s causing the issue?

I have exactly the same issue on my one plus 8. Did you ever find a solution?

So annoying, tried uninstalling and clearing cache and updating my server with no success.

I also have this problem on my OnePlus 8 Pro.

I dont know what to do anymore. Server is on the latest Version. Even clearing cache and app data didnt work and uninstalling, neither.

I hope Plex is going to find out what is going on soon…

It is only with their Beta 11?

I just upgraded to beta 12, which was finally released in Europe (Germany) this morning! Seems fixed!

No it’s not limited to their Beta. I’m running the latest stable on the OnePlus 8T. I’ve never installed Plex before on this device. Just downloaded it from the play store, opened it and it’s stuck at the Plex logo splash screen.

I got an update today Oxygen OS 11.0.9.9.KB05BA that fixed the issue with plex

I’ve not yet installed that system update yet, but the app has started working on it’s own again. So probably the Plex app got updated in the background. Either way, it works now.

Beta or stable, still doesn’t work for me. I’m stuck on the Plex logo screen. OnePlus 8t.
Edit: this just mysteriously fixed itself.

Same here! Second time with plex Android app not working, it’s stuck at Plex logo. I’m on oneplus 8 (no beta, last official release 11.0.8.8) and my server is dockerized, version 1.24.4.5081. Even if not the latest one it should be supported!

Do you have any idea how to resolve? Tried everithing, reinstall, clear cache and storage, opt out from beta program and so on.
The previous time I resolved updating the server but right now I must stay with this version so I’m out of options.
