Plex App not working on phone

Hello,

I have an iphone 7 and I cannot sign into the plex app at all. I use the same info to log into plex on my desktop, but cannot log in on my cell phone. I have uninstalled the app and reinstalled it and still nothing.

My sister has a Samsung S20 and cannot log in either.

I keep getting unable to authenticate user or appears this IP is having issues with multiple failed attempts.

Anything else I can try out?

i too am having this same problem but with a twist and need help.

Everything has been working fine for several years. I got an email notice saying i had a login from Malaysia, which was not expected. I then logged into my account, changed passwords.

As expected, my outside local network access needed to be updated, and i did so. However, all attempts to login from exterior sources using my email login failed with a “user cannot be authenticated” error. Yet, all plex.tv/link devices connected without issue. It would seem to be some sort of authentication error when those other devices are trying to connect to the server via email login. For clarity, when i did the plex.tv/link method, i did so while on my local home network, tied driectly to the server, but for appliances which were not on direct network.

Today, i linked my gmail account in the server settings, then attempted a non-local network sign in using the gmail account method. It worked without authenticated issues.

I’d prefer the email login method, but am confused how to proceed. Any help?
