I’m lobbying to get attention on our Windows rendering. I appreciate everyone’s input here; will forward this to folks that can really improve the situation.
Hello I did coment on another thread a couple of weeks ago, plex for windows1.3.1.916-1cb2c34d stutters, I see no video decode happening on task manager while playing videos, only 3D utilization, video card nvidia 710, meanwhile plex media player 2.43.0 shows video decode and 3D usage in the task manager while playing videos and plays everything with no problems
Thanks Matt! Does rendering include the UI performance issues?

Same laggy interface issue on my new Surface Pro 7 i5, 8GB RAM. I also had to create a user variable manually and set the PLEX_SCALE_FACTOR to 2.0. Not sure if setting the scaling variable is what is affecting the utterly poor performance even just navigating in the application.
Bump.
I’ve the same issue on the top of the line 2019 Matebook X Pro. Seems like it’s not making use of hw acceleration.
Please fix this asap.
has there been any update on this? On a fully loaded xps 13 9380 and i can barely scroll through my library…made my own post a couple days ago about it but no responses
Same here, surface pro 4 (i5, 8gb ram), laggy performance.
Same here, very laggy (like ~5fps) user interface on Plex for Windows 10 1.3.1.916-1cb2c34d on a i7 7600u/intel HD 620. I went back using Plex web client.
Bump.
I got better performance by using Plex Media Player 3.0. Just by switching to the other program did not fix the issue. I had to switch to the TV view, click on my profile, go to settings. In the main settings I used the arrow keys on my keyboard to scroll down to the bottom of the options where I put a check mark next to Native OpenGL (requires restart). After a restart and switching back to the original view, the interface is no longer laggy. This helped me, I hope it can help someone else as well.
Bumping this (and several other posts) for performance issues with high GPU usage.
Any updates?
Bump.
It’s the weekend. Not sure why you think you’re going to get a response from developers just now…
Considering it’s been many weeks since this issue was reported with no substantive response, I don’t expect that the particular time or day posting will have any impact at all. I am hoping that the issue has been prioritized in the development schedule and a random developer reading the forum on a Monday afternoon isn’t necessary to get this the attention it needs.
I just try to bump once per week or so to try to relate the ongoing importance of this unaddressed problem.
Same issues here. The lag has made plex unusable on my windows 7 theater setup. We’ve been using the windows media player in the meantime.
If you have an HTPC environment, you will probably want to explore using Plex Media Player instead:
Happy thanksgiving! Bump
