So, I installed Arcade this week, I have used emulators for many years and I have a very large library of romsets, boxart, posters and other metadata to go along with the romsets, most of which is better than what Plex scrapes.
So, is there a bulk way for me to change thumbnails, backgrounds etc, to media i already have on my system?
Plex arcade at the forefront, seems like it can be a really great addition, but in my experience, emulation guys (and girls) are really particular about everything having to do with their emulations. We like them first and foremost, to run as perfect as possible, for the really old emulations in arcade, we like to have to overlays and screen matting that originally had the instructions, artwork and such on our emulation, we usually have movies that we use on our frontends so you get an idea of the game running, and this is just for the arcade versions, We love our original boxart for consoles, and we HAVE to be able to change how our controls are used in conjunction with the game (I.E. mapping)
What kind of updates are we to expect? I love being able to stream my games wherever I may be, I love everything that Plex is trying to tackle here. I think it really has some great possibilities but I’d love to see more customizations, better mapping and the ability to see those across the various consoles that Plex works with.
Is a linux version in the works? I have a desktop that I was considering a change to linux so it could be dedicated to server works only, freeing up my desktop, but have held off because Arcade doesn’t work on linux.
In short, I’m really excited, I really like everything so far, I just want more!
