Plex Arcade: Network configuration prevents direct connection to game session -6200

Network configuration prevents direct connection to game session.

Error code: -6200 (Network)

Anybody know how to fix this problem? I’ve already allowed the game transcoder through the firewall and gave it it’s own rules, still nothing.

I have the exact same issue. :frowning:

That means you have a network issue. Are you access your PMS using RDP or similar? There may be a firewall prompt you need to accept.

I am using a VM. Oracle specifically. Is there something I have to do outside of the VM? Because I’ve already went through the firewall in it and approved it.

Is your server enabled for remote access? And is that working. I think that might be needed.

Yeap! Remoted to the server and the firewall prompt was the first thing I saw. Clicked Accept and everything is working now.

It is enabled and it says it’s working.

Please provide me your PMS logs after reproducing the error message.

Exact same issue. Working fine on PMS - ROMs load. Any other device, nothing.
On another Win10 client (on same network) this error appears.
Plex working fine for audio/video content for internal and remote users.

Getting the Same Error:

Network configuration prevents direct connection to game session.
Error code: -6200 (Network)

Everything else besides Plex Arcade works fine. I do have a 20 GBIT/S Static Link Aggregation through a Intel X540 Network Card. (Windows 10). Wonder what the problem could be. I am at a wits end.

Thanks Elan, but could you elaborate about how this may be of use to someone experiencing this error in terms of actually fixing it?

If I wanted to just use PARSEC via their native app I wouldn’t bother setting up PLEX to run games in the first place?

** Edit ** It’d be good to have a comprehensive fix for those who are continuing their subs after 7 day trial, sadly I’ve reached the limit of my patience with it, having not managed to get a single game to run over this period. Plex is great, I wish you hadn’t rushed this add-on out without some comprehensive troubleshooting guides for what I understand is a really common problem! I’ll revisit this in a couple of months to see if any progress has been made.

unfortunately i don’t have concrete suggestions, sorry. i haven’t run into the error personally.

right, that’s more for people who want to stream their entire screen.

Same issue here when trying to access from web, mobile, or android TV from devices on same LAN as hosting server. All other aspects of Plex work fine on LAN and outside of my local network. Can play games locally on server (most of the time works fine although I do get random game transcoder crashes but have fixed most by changing to different cores). Also confirmed the plex game transcoder app is allowed through Windows firewall and even tested with Windows firewall off completely. Can provide logs if needed.

Server info:
Plex version - 1.21.2.3943
OS - Win 10 Pro
CPU - Intel E5-2620v2 x2
MB - Asus Z9PA-D8
GPU - GTX 1070 with 461.09 drivers
RAM - 64GB ECC 1333MHz

thanks for the report! we’re trying to get more information about how one might resolve a Parsec 6200 error on LAN.

if you could post the cores which worked for you that would be helpful for us to collect (as well as the ones which didn’t).

thanks for trying plex arcade! :joystick:

So far for N64 ROMs I tried Mepen64Plus but that would crash the transcoder but switching to parallel_n64_libretro did the trick. Sega has always worked with genesis_plus_gx_libretro, SNES works with snes9x_libretro, and NES works with fceumm_libretro. I haven’t done too much testing as my server isn’t connected to monitor currently and RDP is to laggy and keyboard controls don’t always translate well. Let me know what I can do to help as I want to see this succeed.

I had this issue on Windows 10, solved it by allowing “C:\Program Files (x86)\Plex\Plex Media Server\Plex Game Transcoder\Plex Game Transcoder.exe” in Windows Defender.

Just tried that but still get the same -6200 error. Even turned off Defender but got the same result when trying to play across the network.

Edit: I was able to get it to work on my Android phone. It kinda worked on my Chromecast but only displays in a small portion of the screen like it’s stuck at the native resolution.

I can stream games locally on the Plex Server but having the same issue though when streaming it to another Windows 10 PC on the same network. Are there any ports that need to be opened up on the client side or does everything come off 443 or whichever port Plex uses when in a browser?

it’s possible Windows Defender needs an exception for the Plex Game Transcoder. we’ve added that in the next version automatically.
