Plex arcade problems on Fire TV

Server Version#: 1.24.3.5033
Player Version#: 8.23.2.28087

Hi all. I set up Plex Arcade on my server which is running V 1.24.3.5033 hoping to replace my retroarch setup and consolidate all to the Plex screen. Server has plenty of memory and processor, it’s a recent upgrade. Roms and cores went well, and the games load and play via browser no problem.

But when I attempt to run any game on the Fire Cube in the Plex app, I get an error stating “Unable to play due to OpenGL ES version, please try a device with OpenGL ES v3 or higher.”

Fire Cube is running Fire OS 6.2.8.1 and the Plex app on the Fire Cube is v 8.23.2.28087. Not seeing available updates for any of this.

Any help or troubleshooting ideas appreciated. As always, if I solve it I will update here for future ref. Cheers.

Looking at dev specs for the cube Amazon says it supports:

Max OpenGL version
Open Graphics Library – 2D and 3D graphics rendering
OpenGL ES 3.2

https://developer.amazon.com/docs/fire-tv/device-specifications-fire-tv-cube.html

Is this something I can change in the app or server settings?

The Plex app checked for the support of OpenGL through the OS. It could be the cube is reporting something different due to Amazon’s fork of the OS. Can you provide me a log from the cube after trying to play a game.
