Plex Arcade wont play any games on Amazon Fire Stick, says must update android version to 6, And firesticks only run on FireOS 5.2.7.7
Wasn’t this advertised to work on Fire TV? was it even checked?
Is there different cores you need? or will this just not work as advertised
Works well on my browsers
Yeah it was advertised to run on firetv. Total BS. Cancelling my membership.
Would be nice if someone from Plex Labs could reply and tell us if the support for FireTV was a miss, or was there something we need to do differently. I would love to have this, but, Every TV in my house runs on FireTV, so this becomes useless.
Hey guys, not sure if this helps but my firestick is Fire OS 6.2.7.7. I have a Firestick 4K. Perhaps you can force an upgrade? I have found that it still does not work however, as I get a black screen with the music from the game playing in the background. Progress?
Thanks, yes, I checked my 4k stick and getting the same as you, Just a blank screen I’m not getting the music though, am going to fiddle with it some more. But am getting to the point of just scrapping the idea until they get the bugs worked out or come up with something new.
My experience with Live TV/DVR has been that they have not got it working reliably on any platform in over 27 months. So they have already shown a tendency of taking your money, under-delivering and then using the money to develop another product that customers will feel the same way about.
Sorry guys. We missed adding the minimum Android requirement on our documentation. This has been updated.
Note: Android devices must be running Android version 6.0 or higher (Fire OS 6.0 for Fire TV devices) and support OpenGL ES v3 or higher.
That leaves out the older Fire TV sticks that only run Fire OS 5.
If you get music then it’s working but likely the core you are using doesn’t work well with your PMS hardware. You can try using a different core.
Thanks bud that was my next step when at home. It would be nice to compile a list of cores that work good. I will try it later and see what happens.
Well if anyone with the Firestick has any luck then please let me know. I have been testing some cores and when using the Core Manager application I can get games to play fine on the windows machine I have PMS on, but only get sound when streaming to the firestick. I am not sure whether it will be an issue from the windows 10 laptop or on the Firestick itself. I found for SNES the bsnes-performance core loaded the best, as well as mGBA for gameboy advance. The mame core that was installed with the original Atari files when setting up arcade works for the atari games on the host machine, but again just sound and a black screen on the Firestick.
I did double check the firestick specs and the 4K version is rated for openGL ES V3.2 so it should be able to play the video. I am unsure what settings could be prohibiting the video stream only.
Good luck.
So one more tidbit, I don’t have many other platforms to test this on but on a whim I tried through plex on my Samsung note 9 and it works like a charm. It makes me wonder if there is a setting on the firestick that is maybe causing the video to not stream? I am possibly grasping at straws now hahaha.
I’ve seen the same thing on my firetv stick 4k. just sound, no picture and that is for all my roms/emulators. These work fine on other android platforms as well so its not the GFX card (GTX 1050ti 4GB OC) which si listed in the compatability matrix on Parsec
FireTV OS is 6.2.7.7 so should be fine (there is an update though)
Where is the option on FireTV to launch this? I have a newer FireTV with the the newest OS and I don’t even have the option? (I can launch on my Android phone, but I don’t want to do that and it is awful gameplay)
Fire TV Stick 4K

I too am having the same problem.
I’ve tried all the NES cores and it works great everywhere except for on the 4K Firestick.
6.2.7.7
I wonder if this IS working for anyone?
I don’t think I’ll keep the subscription without Firestick working.
Total bummer.
