Plex Arcade?

This isn’t a retroarch limitation, it seems to be a plex-scanner specific one. I’m currently renaming large chunks of content whilst trying to not break numerous other emulator/UI configs.

I’m with you too. Whilst I have multiple perfectly reasonable emulators/UI (including libretro on a RetroPie with emulationStation as a front end) I’ve always wanted my content unifying behind the same library and UI as Plex.

I certainly don’t mind about the $3 a month to play my own content. I was a super early lifetime plex-pass purchaser, so I don’t feel Plex owe me anything (I’ve already had way more than my moneys worth) and less than the price of a beer, per month, going help drive future development, I’m all for that.

Currently it’s rather rough and not-quite-ready, but it’s a great tech-demo and I can’t wait to see where it goes to.

To add to Espiox’s list, for me being able to reassign (ideally completely remap) controllers. Trying to play 2600 games on a Hotas is erm … sub optimal  . At this stage much much better error reporting would be a great help at least a clue as to whether an error in the log is resulting from plex, libretro or parsec would help and support for bin files, but I understand why with a shared-library model, an extension that doesn’t infer the platform would be tricky (plus let us infer it from the directory name, like most emulators).

So far I only have 2600 games working (but not just the included handful), but it’s a great start!

Was super excited at the possibility here. Horrible experience working with it however.

My suggestion would be to extend the trial period, we are basically beta testing this after all and if I start getting charged in the current state of operations it is gonna get cancelled.

I wanted it to work…really.

Same problem here

this file doesn’t work on my Mac

Finally, N64 is working good… nothing was changed… I don’t understand.
Just some lags between my iMac and my Apple TV.
Works great directly on the iMac with Microsoft Edge and xbox Controller via bluetooth.

Hi, I’m getting the same -12007 error on my Mac Plex Server.

I followed the link about the error code and my network situation definitely meets all of the requirements, but the final option is that something else in PMS is crashing results in the service hanging up and displaying the -12007 error. Since I have manual port forwarding turned on and UPnP is turned off, my first best guess as of now is that this is part of the problem but I’m curious if anyone knows if the games stream through Plex’s network settings, or if a different set of Ports needs to be forwarded for the Parsec service.

I read Parsec’s support documentation for their standalone app and they recommend opening ports 8000,8001,8002 when UPnP is disabled. I tried this but it still didn’t work.

I looked in the Plex Game Transcoder.log and there is an error code of -28003 which is listed on Parsec’s site but with no reference as to the meaning.

Any thoughts?

I appreciate anyone’s help.

Thank you for this! Everything works well for about 5 - 10min, then games just stall and don’t load for me. It’s fixed by killing the transcoder task, but the same problem occurs. Right now I’m just using the pre-loaded Atari games Plex provides.

Here is my log if that helps.

i have the same and no one knows ill give it one more day and then i want my money back!!!

The parsec error description states: The 12007 errors are typically the result of a bad network situation on the client-side. Essentially, this error is saying the UDP connection was cutoff.

It’s probably because you haven’t verified your email address yet. Go to your mailbox and should see an email from Parsec asking you to do so. Once verified, the buttons will start to function.

Same Thing here not network works in chrome.

opened ports manually… still no work

What do i do? If this is not a network issue why does it work in chrome?..

12007 is a networking issue. chrome uses WebRTC and the other clients use native Parsec stack, which have different characteristics.

so what do i do? i guess get my money back? or can you help me any all? port forwarding? SOMETHING? not helpful at all.

how do i fix it ?

parsec troubleshooting it meaningless here " Make sure your router has static DHCP leases turned on. You should forward ports 8000 - 8002 UDP on your router, and add 8000 as your start port for the host to the Parsec Network Settings. You should increase the range from 8000 - 8011 if you have 4 friends connecting at the same time." tired this. no work. WHAT DO I DO?

Hi Elan,

When I attempt to play any game, I get a blank black screen for a few minutes and then receive the -12007 error. When I looked into this error on Parsec’s support site, there is a list of several reasons why that error might occur. Many of the reasons are directly network related, but one of the reasons listed is if something else crashes which results in a network disconnect.

I then read my transcoder log and saw that I was getting a different parsec error listed as -28003. This error code exists on parsec’s site but it doesn’t have any documentation as to what it is or how to resolve it.

I’m curious if you’re familiar with this error.

Separately, relating to Parsec’s comments about the first few 8000 ports, this is definitely directed toward using Parsec’s stand alone app. Do we know if this same troubleshooting applies when using Plex? I opened those ports and pointed them at my server, but it didn’t resolve the -120007 error. I’m curious if you know if all port forwarding, even for games, is handled inside of Plex’s port settings? Or if there is a different set of ranges that the Parsec service uses when streamed through Plex?

Thank you.

Has anyone gotten any controllers to work with Plex Arcade? So far, I have tried an 8BitDo Zero 2 (bluetooth) and a standard Xbox (Bluetooth) controller on Android, Android TV, and Windows Desktop, and no matter what, the D-Pad or Left Thumb controller will NOT move the character. I’ve also tried this in multiple games (some SNES, some Atari)…nothing.

If I can’t get a controller to work, I just won’t be able to really enjoy running these ROMs. Any tips or help?
