Anyway, back to Plex Arcade, I’m really hyped to what it is and what it can become. My only concern is that I’m currently running my Plex server on a Syno Nas and it’s not supported. Besides the fact that I DO hope there is *nix support coming soon, I’m wondering if this could work:
Running another server on my windows PC, but pointing games’ libraries on a network drive connected on this PC, which would be my NAS’ shared folder. Wouldn’t want to waste my 7 days trial to test it only to see it not working. So if anyone could tell me if this would work.
Anyway, kudos on Plex to improve so much their product, it’s been years and I still love it, and God knows I’ve tried so many different solutions before Plex!

Yeah, as long as the server can access the games via network drive that should work fine.

I run my server on my Mac with all my media stored on my synology including games
So yeah you should be fine

One thing I found under Windows is even though the scanner works fine some game cores don’t like loading roms from UNC paths and needed my NAS share mounting as a mapped drive letter before they worked.

Could you point me in the right direction as to how to install and set up this core for Plex Arcade? I’ve tried using the core Manager but it only has MAME as an option but I don’t know what romset to use with that. It lists Mame 2003 but the option to download/install is greyed out.

So if I can’t install it automatically using the core manager, what steps do I need to take to install it and make Plex see it as an option?

So I dropped the very latest distro in and most games seem to be working but some games aren’t showing up at all. Does anyone have any idea why some games would show up in the library and some don’t? Can anyone help with my previous question about what distro to use?

The server log would explain it, but you might need to be more specific about which ROMs/platform. If they’re MAME, likely they aren’t matching with our cloud metadata service for some reason.
