Latest beta player has broken downloads. If media is downloaded to player, then it isn’t playable. Plex client times out.
This happens with content downloaded with a previous beta version and also when downloading on this player.
The behaviour occurs on iPad, Vision Pro and iPhone.
Sorry… I cannot seem to reproduce this on my iOS device (neither on TestFlight nor regular versions).
Do you experience this for all media or only specific use cases (e.g. after downloading files in original quality, playing specific codecs…)?
The issue is on all iOS devices I have and using the latest Plex beta on all three - iPhone, iPad and Vision Pro. The downloaded files are in original quality.
The issue occurs on all media downloaded. Deleting the media allows them to be played - but downloading the media again establishes the problem. Switching the settings to prefer downloaded media off fixes it of course as it ignores the recorded media.
Prior to the latest beta, I downloaded and played the media fine. Previous downloaded media also has this issue
I had to re-install Plex server from scratch, but the iOS clients still had previous downloads. This meant that there was probably an inconsistency between the databases on the client and the server - even after deleting the media, the problem still existed, so it is likely the client database was corrupted somehow.
Deleting Plex and its data on the client and re-installing Plex and re-downloading the media seems to have fixed this.
