Plex cannot be used under proxy service?

I installed proxy service in the router at home, so my real IP was hidden, with foreign disguised IP. Therefore, Synology network has also taken the proxy service. I have installed plex in Synology.

This leads to my plex always saying: Not available outside your network. It can’t open the page on the phone, even slowly.

In fact, I shut down the agent and it’s all right.

I think this is a technical problem. Can plex staff solve it?

Because, when I turn on the router proxy service,
Emby can be used smoothly, Why does plex become difficult?

I would like to add why plex does not call the real public IP in the router, and why it calls the disguised IP address. It’s strange that plex is still unable to link even if the disguised IP access network is smooth. This is confusing.

Can technical personnel learn from emby and make some improvements?

By default, Plex uses the public IP address from which it sees your traffic originate as the server’s public IP address. Since you’re proxying your traffic, Plex will see it originate from the proxy’s IP address.

However, Plex Media Server provides specific, documented functionality to override this behavior for cases just like yours. By specifying a custom server access URL, you can explicitly define the URL at which remote clients should try to reach your server. See the “Custom server access URLs” section of this support article:

Thank you, philipsw. Yes, plex works perfectly. It made me cancel my plan to buy emby instead of plex, and I will continue to use plex, which is great.
