The "public" IP address displayed by the plex server is the address of the proxy server, not the IP address of the local network, which sometimes prevents remote playback

Server Version#:1.20.4.3517
Player Version#: 1.22.0.1421-be6a7c42

As in the title, my plex is set up on a synology nas. In order to back up my data to google drive, my nas server is connected to the Internet through a proxy server, because of this,I cannot connect to the plex server remotely for normal playback. If I turn off the proxy server and connect directly to the telecommunications network, although I can play normally, but I can’t perform google drive backups. What should I do?

I want to know how your server obtains the “public” IP address. I need to find a way to get the IP of my local internet network as the “public” IP address, so that my problem can be solved.

Thank you!

By going through a proxy server, you’ve created a only semi-transparent NAT.

This is telling us : Computer → Proxy → Modem/Router → Internet ???

If so, then PMS is seeing the “WAN” port side of the Proxy – which happens to be 1 layer of NAT and still inside your LAN.

This is the definition of Double NAT. There’s no way around it with IGD discovery.
