Plex cannot see my USB drive connected to access point (router)

Hi All,

I have two routers a Technicolor provided by my ISP and a TPLink AXE75. I have to use the Technicolor because we have a phone line and the AXE75 does not have an RJ11 port for the phone.

The AXE75 is connected as an access point to allow me to use my Quest 3 via wifi 6e. I have a 10tb external drive connected to my AXE75 via USB which is seen by Plex only when my PC is on, when I turn the PC off it is not seen by plex. The TP-Share drive is accessible from both my smart tv’s when PC is on or off.

How can I get Plex to see the drive plugged into my access point on the AXE75 at all times.

You don’t. Plex depends on the server to run, apps access your libraries via the server… not by directly connecting to a network drive.

I know this but my smart tv ect will do the work I just need plex to be able to see the drive and the devices will do the rest. I just need to know how I can access the drive that is connected to an access point.

I guess you could take a look at the router’s manual (chapter 8.1):
