Plex client on Sony Bravia

I have Plex client on 3 Android TV’s, 1 phone, one tablet.

The problems I’m listing only happen on the Sony Bravia.

  • changing subtitles during playback results in several seconds of spinning, sometimes culminating in a message that the connection to the server is slow. All devices on the same subnet, wired into a 10Gb switch. Additionally, the rewind/forward buttons stop working when I do this. I have to exit, then start playing again, for Plex to respond to these actions.

  • sometimes™ when rewinding, I get a message about insufficient disk space to convert. This is problematic for every conceivable reason:

    • I’m not converting. I’m set to use original stream, no conversion
    • if I was converting, there’s more than ample disk to do this conversion that I’m configured not to use

I have a Samsung and a Hisense, both Android, same client versions as the Bravia. Neither exhibits these symptoms. I’m stumped. The Bravia is by far the superior TV in all other respects.
