Plex stutter when subtiles are activated on Android TV 4K content

Hello everyone,

(First of all, english is not my main language so be kind if some sentence are not verbaly correct please)

I have an issue when using plex on my android tv (Sony Bravia 65X85J ) localy used with my ( Synology DS423+ ) NAS when I’m using subtitle in 4K movies.

I’ve already tested a few thing :

  1. The hardware transcoding is selected to “make my CPU suffer”.
  2. The Plex Proxy is desactivated.
  3. The Subtitles are in SRT.

Only one thing worked last night but after the restart of the TV it doesn’t work anymore :

Uninstall Plex and Install it again. ( It worked perfectly with no stutter for 2 hours before I had to go to bed )

I’ve tested to stop all of the other application running on the TV cleaning the cache etc… but nothing worked.

Of course it occurse only on my android TV on my smartphone and PC it work perfectly fine at original quality with the subtitle enabled.

Can someone help me please with this issue I don’t know what other option I have specially when it worked perfectly last night it drive me crazy.

I was experiencing something similar. I suspect there is a regression bug in the current version of Plex server that is affecting performance when subtitles are enabled. I downgraded to the test build from this thread and the problem went away.

Can either of you please attach logs of this happening?

Yes of course do you want the server logs or the client logs ?
