Anybody figure out what the best video file size is for streaming? i have a 7GB 1080p file that i uploaded to aws and can only get fluid play at 1.5MB/480p - thoughts?
Plex Cloud will depend mainly on your internet download speed. If you have a slow download speed then yes a lower bitrate will be recommended
BD-RIPs play fine for me using DIRECTPLAY from Plex Cloud
Example:
Media:
Video Resolution 1080p
Duration 2:09:13
Bitrate 33731 kbps
Width 1920
Height 1080
Aspect Ratio 1.78
Container MKV
Video Frame Rate 24p
Video Profile high
Duration 2:09:13
File vvu9G_XfRc-pKNMAhB98_A
Size 30.45 GB
Container MKV
Video Profile high
Codec H264
Bitrate 33731 kbps
Language English
Frame Rate 23.976 fps
Height 1080
Level 4.1
Profile high
Ref Frames 1
Width 1920
Codec TRUEHD
Channels 7.1
Language English
Audio Channel Layout 7.1
Bit Depth 24
Sampling Rate 48000 Hz
Personally I have 30/5MB should be pretty good. Just be great to get some input from users to maximize our viewing experience!
