Plex collection screen is not showing collections

Server Version#: 4.76.1
Player Version#: NA
Windows 10 21H2

Today it seems my Plex server via web is not properly showing my Collections. If I am on my “Movie” library and click from “Library” at the top to “collections” screen up until today it would show only collections. Now today it just shows all the individual movies the same as the library screen. If I change the collection setting in advanced for the library between “disabled” , “show collections and their items” OR “hide items that are in collections” it changes very little, some collections are seen “inline” and others are not.

I am reading online I should have a check mark in the drop down for “collections” as well but I only have the two options for “movies” and “folders”

*Interesting fact.. if I do a switch user and log in as one of the other family members in my house that have much less access the collections screen looks as it should or did before on my login.

I’ve included some pics. Has anyone had this issue and how to resolve?

Settings > Plex Web > Debug > Restore Defaults

Thanks for that. I’m a little new to Plex. OR new to having any issues at least, will this “restore defaults” default the entire application (every setting)? Or just the UI somehow? I’ve made quite a few settings changes over the past 2 years.

This will reset settings of the web app and your customization – when reloading the page you’ll probably be asked to select which libraries to be pinned to the sidebar again.

From the button description:

All Plex Web settings and customization will be reset and restored to their default state. NOTE: If settings sync is also turned on, settings on other Plex Web instances may also be reset. Use with caution.

Thank you tom80H. That did fix the issue. Is their any guidance on how or what changed to cause it? It appeared to be fine today as normal, I was cleaning up a bunch of unwanted movies… and deleting their respective collections and the UI flickered and it seems it just did that at some point.

Thanks again for the assist!

I’m not sure what’s causing it. There’s a random case where this happens occasionally – I haven’t seen an actual pattern. Given it’s rather rare and relatively easy to fix, I doubt anybody’s been digging into it much.

I’ve also been seeing this issue. Resolves itself after a while or by clearing web settings. What’s weird is that it doesn’t happen if you connect directly to the server. It’s something happening with the &pivot=collections query and the app.plex.tv connector.

thinks very much,i take 56 days to solve the issue but i failed until I see your solution.thinks again
