I am looking for help and did not see this specific questions anywhere else regarding collections and multiple libraries.
In my main Plex directory I have different folders for movies (DC, Marvel, Disney, etc.), each of these folders is uploaded as a separate unique library within Plex, and than the main directory as its own library which includes all of the sub folders (Movies [containing all sub folders]).
I started to create Collections within the libraries of sub folders and it worked out great, but when I go into the Movie library there are no Collections present at all.
Is there a way to copy the collection information from one library to another? Having to start over is going to drag and I would have wasted a lot of time.
No, each library will have to have its custom collections set manually.
Is there any particular reason you’re doing it this way? ie Main Library, and then Smaller broken up Libraries that are comprised of content in the main library? This is kind of what collections does on its own…
I did the sub folders before I fully understood the collections portion. Now that I’ve messed around with it that feature is awesome. I was looking to transfer what I did already, but not doable.
No worries, I guess I just misunderstood your post… One thing to note though. If you leave them in the sub folders a really quick way to do it would be to go to folder view
Do that by going to where it says Movies at the top drop down, and click folders. Then you can go into the folder, click the little circle at the top left of the first one, then shift+click on the last movie to select them all, click the edit pencil, and then you can edit the “Collection” tag for all of the files in that subfolder at once.
