Plex combining shows

Hello, I’m having some issues with TV Shows being loaded into Plex. For some reason Plex adds multiple shows under a singular show as alternate versions of the episodes. Let’s say for example there’s a show with 12 episodes in one folder and another show with 110 episodes, it’ll add the 110 episodes to the first show with the first 12 being alternate versions. Here’s the file path for some of them:

E:\TV Shows\L\Land of the Lustrous\Season 01\Land of the Lustrous (2017) - S01E01.mp4

E:\TV Shows\L\Legend of the Galactic Heroes\Season 01\Legend of the Galactic Heroes (1988) - S01E001.mp4

Before they had the same file path but the file names were S01E01 and so on. I tried renaming them, moving them to the root folder of the show instead of moving them to a season folder, adding in the show name, year, or episode title, still has issues. Also tried having the server rebuilding the meta data and the issue persists.

Is there anyway to fix this?

Which path exactly do you have set in the setting of that TV library under “Add Folders”

since you are using alpha sub folders make sure the root folder E:\TV Shows is not there. You need to add each path E:\TV Shows\A though E:\TV Shows\Z

The file path is E:\TV Shows. I’ll give that a shot and see how it works. Thank you kindly good sir.

Also that image is not loading for me, I tried opening it by right clicking on it and clicking on “Open Image in another tab”, I get a 403 forbidden error.

here is another. you need to hit “browse for media folder” for each path to each alpha sub folder separately to add them

FYI, you can copy/paste in the path after clicking on “Browse for Media Folder.”

Instead of clicking through the directory structure for every folder, paste in E:\TV Shows\, then add the appropriate letter (A, B, C, etc.).

Makes the process of adding a lot of folders go a bit faster.
