Alright, changing the secured connection from “preferred” to “disabled” fixed the problem. I did this for both the tv and on the server side. I’m not sure if this is required, maybe you only need to change it on the TV. Thanks to everyone who posted.
IME, you must do it on both sides. Glad this worked for you guys.
Unfortunately this doesn’t seem to be a universal solution, as I am still having the same issues (buffering) even with encryption set to disabled (both server and TV), with a wired Ethernet connection to the TV.
It seems to be something to do with the PLEX app on the LG TV, as even the ancient Roku 3 doesn’t do it.
I am testing with a 13Mbps 1080p file BTW.
