Plex server on Windows 10 64bit, never had any problems for probably 5 years. Was watching through web-browser via localhost address. Plex crashed. Have since restarted PC, tried “repair” install, uninstall/re-install… no apparent issues running Plex server per icon appearing in system tray but can no longer access server via 127.0.0.1 or any from any other device inside or outside the network.
Similar but on Synology. Cannot log in to the Plex Server, nor on client softare (Android TV, FireStick, Windows 10)
Ok… I backed up my 2 db files, did the uninstall, nuked the %LOCALAPPDATA%\Plex Media Server folder and the registry key and subkeys. Performed a re-install, things are looking good, except I’ve got two servers now with the same name, one unreachable, and the new version, reachable. I’m just trying to figure out how to completely get rid of the old version of the server.
I’ve completely wiped Plex off my PC, re-installed and configured a new server… it works for a few days and then I experience the same issue as the original post. The server is running as indicated in the system tray but the localhost address gives a “connection refused” message. Any help would be appreciated. I’ve also discovered via netstat -a -b that port 32400 does not seem to be listening
