Not sure where to go here. The server was working fine up until this evening when I got a message saying someone from Taiwan logged into my plex account. I reset my password and the server went offline. No access via it’s local IP:32400, I can SSH to the server so I know the network is working. Systemctl status shows the services running and netstat shows that port is listening. This is a VM so I spun up a fresh copy on ubuntu 20.04 and installed plex from the repository. Still no luck. Also tried a version of Ubuntu 16.04 and no luck. Tried an older version of the plex media server and still nothing. Hopefully someone can shed some light on this to help.
Oddly enough I installed the media server application on my windows desktop and that is fine. Are there known issues with the latest server version of Linux that could be causing this?
So after man hours of google and troubleshooting I finally stumbled on this thread…
I used this to access the web interface of the server which finally worked…
Open the server, via the IP address (LAN or Loopback) NOT via app.plex.tv , and append ?secure=0 to the end of the url. e.g http://127.0.0.1:32400/web?secure=0
