hi I’ve been having problems with Plex and my surround sound, it turns a movie that’s 7.1 to setero the devices type is basic and im not able to press on it to change the type can anyone please help, thank you .
What player are you using, Plex Media Player?
What is set as output in your System Prefs Sound settings or AudioMidi set up?
im using Plex media player, how do I check the output ?
in the sounds system prefs of your mac. or the audio midi setup app in utilities
im sorry but im not sure what info you need . I took a screen shot hopeful it will help, and if this is not the info you need could you guide me to how I could get it
Hmm. I never tried to use Display Port before. That is connected to your TV? what is connected to surround system?
its connected to my sound system which is connected to my projector
so here you can’t get select device type? ( you can’t click that with mouse need to use enter on keyboard)
sorry to be particular but when you say “press” you mean hitting the enter/return key on keyboard doesn’t work?

what are the options it is giving?
basic,hdmi,optical
use HDMI then after that is selected, you should be able to change the number of channels to 7.1
