Help! I think I’m almost there - I think. Will this work on my Samsung TV running the Plex App? I have all of the updated versions (app on smartv, latest Plex server). For some reason the skill does not see any of my Samsung TVs, just the app running in my windows browser and the app running on my Samsung Tablet. I can cast from the Plex web player to my Samsung TVs ( I can see the list of the three tvs in the web app). As some have suggested here, I tried to just “tell plex to make my default player UN28H4500” for example, but it doesn’t seem to like that. Any help?? I am so looking forward to making this work.
Thanks!
Note that it is possible to change the player name for the Roku client by changing the name of the Roku itself using Roku’s website or remote control app. I have two Rokus Ultra that I had renamed “Bedroom” and “Living Room” a while ago, and Alexa picked up those names right away.
I’ve just installed Plex on my Fire TV (Pendant version) and using the voice remote to send commands. When I ask Plex to play any video it says its cant currently play video as no player is set. I cant set a player as it says none are found. I just want to play it on the Fire TV itself! Am I missing something?
I am trying to have Alexa play something on Plex (like a movie or a song) on a Firestick, but it does not recognize my player on the device. It asks me to chose the player but it only gives me two options: Chrome and Chrome (and I am not running players on any Chrome devices according to the dashboard activity screen). And Plex is already running on the Firestick (showing a movie). When I ask Alexa to list my players, it includes the name of the Firestick device, but it does not give it as an option for the default player. What gives?
