1.) Settings → Manage Library Access
Under Friends with Library access, it shows the libraries a friend has access too on the right, except the page isn’t updated to show changes in shared libraries which are actually shared.
2.) Settings → Manage Library Access → View All Friends → select any friend results in An error occurred while loading this profile. Please try again.
Hi there,
I have something similar going on with respect to being able to see a friend’s remote server on the left hand side of the Plex app on my Sony TV but on my mobile phone Plex I do see it.
I’m specifically looking why Plex on my
Sony XBR-75Z8H television does not show the remote plex server that I can see on my phone after I accepted the invite.
On my Android (Pixel 4a 5G) phone app as opposed to the app on my Smart TV, on the far left hand side after Music is Camera rolls, Downloads, Open video file and then More. When I tap on more then I can see the remote server.
Interestingly enough when I’m on the smart TV app I can search for a movie that I know is on the remote server and find it but I don’t see the server mounted on the left hand side of the app.
So I don’t know what OS the Sony TV runs but chances are you didn’t pin the Movies library (assuming that’s the missing one) when you accepted the invitation and set up your TV. Try going to the menu on the left and expanding the More option (at the bottom - might be 3 dots) and when you see your friend’s server there, expand that and find the missing library and attempt to pin it to your home screen.
I agree with @FabulousFadz said, probably related to what was pinned or in your case, not pinned and can be per client. You’ll need to pin it after you click more under your friends server. Again, exactly what @FabulousFadz mentioned as well. Unrelated to with the issue I opened this post for as “Manage Library Access” defects. For me, I will only share 4 libraries with a friend and next to his name under Manage Library Access it still says 12 libraries shared (shared previously before I rebuilt and reshared my server) and View All Friends → select any friend results in An error occurred while loading this profile. Please try again.
@Gary_Tessman sorry I got distracted when typing a message to ask for more info regarding your issue. Now that you provided it I think I know what’s happening. I had a similar situation in which I had to move my server to a new maching and OS but didn’t claim it. When looking at my friends they had double the libraries shared from me, more than I actually have to share.
Since I went to delete the old server it now shows the correct number.
Go to Settings > Authorized Devices > and filter for “Server” then delete the old server(s). Hopefully you can tell them apart. Mine had the same name but on two different operating systems and machines so I could spot the difference easily.
Sony TV runs on the Android OS currently at version 9. I accepted the invitation which came in my email on my phone and pinned it on my phone’s mobile app but I cannot see it on the TVs app. I would think that wherever you log in the interface would be the same ie the TVs viewing experience the same as the mobile apps experience on the phone . However that is not the case. Furthermore unlike the mobile app on the pixel phone there is no “more” option on the Sony TV app for me to expand. So that is not an option. There is clearly a serious discrepancy between what the Sony TV Android app sees and what the mobile Android app sees.
