Sharing a Library with a friend

Server Version#: 1.22.3.4523
Player Version#: 4.54.5

In my PLEX Settings, “Users & Sharing” I see that i share a library with a family member. This family member sees also in the settings the shared library, but does not appear on the menu and cannot access it. What am I doing wrong?

Let them check the More entry of their main navigation. All libraries will only be visible there until you’ve pinned them.

Unfortunately the library shared is not appearing on their dashboard and not possible to pin.

Plex is showing that the server is unreachable but when i connect with my user credentials it is reachable on the same PC.

Is your remote access enabled?

yes, the remote access of the server where the library is shared is fully accessible.

Have you verified that with another device outside your network? Can you watch Plex on your phone from another location besides the computer you’re using at home?

If not, check to make sure the port you’re using for Plex is actually open.

I had a situation where Plex was showing the server was fully accessible outside my network but the port was actually blocked and no one could connect

With another device if I connect myself as the owner of the library, I see it but if the user, I shared the library with, connects in this same device, then he cannot access it. It says unreachable.

Maybe a stupid question: Should the user I shared the library with use Plex Media Server or Plex web app. Currently he is using only Plex web app.

Does the person you’re sharing with have their own server or they’re just trying to access yours with a free account?

Can they see and play anything from Plex Live TV and Free Movies?

No just want to play free movies.

After rebooting PMS and network router it works fine for all now. I do not know what really happened but it works now.

Just to answer this question.
They should be using and client app, not the media server unless they are actually running their own server.
