Plex Desktop audio player

I’ve recently started listening to a lot of music while I’m on the PC. I’d like to stay within the plex “world” - Plex has good playlist support and Plex Media Player works really well driving an external DAC (useful for the 24/96 FLACs I have kicking around), but the full screen PMP interface makes it unsuited to being a desktop audio player.

Would be nice to have some way of using PMP as an audio player - possibly running it in a headless mode with the “UI” being the remote control API?

Has been asked a lot recently already. But I think the Plex guys are not really willing to add this kind of feature as it is against their philosophy.

Probably not exactly what you are after, but have you tried CTRL+F / CMD+F to switch PMP into ‘windowed’ mode?
You can resize the window with your mouse really tiny.

edit: the shortcut may have changed in the latest Release Candidate to CTRL+Shift+F / CMD+Shift+F

I forgot all about windowed mode - it would suffice for what I need.

As you say, not ideal, but it lets me use the rest of the desktop which is the main thing. Thanks for the suggestion!

While windowed mode works, I too would love this feature. I’m using VOX + Loop as a work around right now, but would rather use my own server rather than pull from the Loop cloud (which I have to pay to use).
