Plex Desktop client broken on Win10

Server Version#:_1.16.5.1488-deeb86e7f_amd64
Player Version#:1.2.1.874-8aa13791

Basically if you let the desktop client update itself, then every time you launch plex afterwards I see a single frame of what I left off watching, but the client is totally hung/crashed, can’t do anything/can’t navigate, have to end task on 2 Plex PIDS in task manager. If I click red X in app or right click->Close it will also hang/do nothing. Happens every time I let the app update. I have to uninstall plex then reinstall 1.0.0-792 to get a functional interface again.

Logs in %appdatalocal% have an access time of today, but all the log entries are from 2 days ago when the app last worked, before update.

So Plex Updater fails to make a working Plex past version 1.0.0-792?

What steps have you tried to completely remove Plex for Windows and all it’s local configuration data, then install only Plex for Windows 1.2.1?

We can guess that the Plex installer works okay for a fresh install on Win10.
So maybe it’s just some cruft?
