When Plex Media Player will be no longer supported, how I use the new desktop app? Like before as a player with the server in background? Or is the new app also the server? In that case how can I migrate my library from Plex Media Server to the new app?

It will be supported.
Yes. Neither the Mac desktop app or Plex Media Player is a server. They are just player apps. For any Plex player app you choose to use whether it be Plex for Mac, Plex Media Player, iOS, Android, Roku or any of the others you just sign into it and they will display the content from your server.
Thank you very much for your answer. I understood that soon Plex Media Player will not be supported on Mac and also Plex Media Server, and that the new Plex will replace both. Happy to know I was wrong.
