I have a movie, The Stand, that was once listed in my library. I did some modifications to the movie (joined 2 pieces into 1 file), and replaced the 2 files with the single one - now the movie will not scan or list in the library. I have tried converting the movie from .avi to .mp4 format, the system still does no scan or list the film.
Movie might get mismatched as some other item.
You could filter your library for Duplicates or switch it to Folder mode and navigate to the The Stand folder in order to see what Plex thinks is inside that folder.
