Server Version#: 4.22.3
Player Version#: Shield 2017 latest
Hi All,
My PMS is on Windows 2012. My 2017 Shield plays back DTS-HD Master via passthrough just fine on one of my videos. I have another video with a TrueHD track and an AC3 track. However, for some reason, only the AC3 track is recognized. Even when I “get Info” for the movie with the web client, it only lists AC3 as the single audio track. However, MediaInfo shows the TrueHD track as well as VLC, when playing the file, plays the TrueHD track.
Ah ok. If you have multiple versions of the file, you don’t get all the audio choices up front. You need to first play the version and then you’ll see the audio available for that file. Plex can’t mix and match video from one file and audio from another.
That’s the thing though, when I play the version that should have TrueHD, plex does not allow me to select any other audio track. Plex seems to think there is only the AC3. When I exported that the “get info” to XML, I tried searching for the string truehd, and it is not in there.
I have a different file with just the one version and that version has only one single truehd audio track. That is detected and plays fine.
Oh sorry, I didn’t even look at the XML. I looked now.
Are you sure the files you have for Plex has a TrueHD track? Did you provide the MediaInfo for the same file that you used for Plex?
The Mediainfo shows the file as <media ref="N:\Videos\Movies\TMNR7T~A\TUE83F~C\TUE83F~C.MKV">. That’s 2 folders deep after “Movies”. Your PMS one shows it only 1 folder deep. MediaInfo also shows the file having PGS subtitles, but those are not shown in the PMS one.
Thank you for that. Looks like there was a third version of the file I forgot about and Plex is actually not finding/categorizing the file I was looking for and thought I was playing.
I really appreciate you helping me figure this out!
