Plex does not show trailers nor the trailer buttons

Hi there,
I have some trailers for movies in my movie folder. Most of them are named not correct. But as soon as I name them correctly (Local Media Assets - Movies | Plex Support), they simply disappear. The associated movie does not show the extra or trailer button. Does anyone know what to do?

I already tried:

  • I put a trailer in a test folder, created a new library and added only the test folder. when the trailer was named randomly it can be found and played in the library, as soon as I name it correct, it simply disappears.
  • I checked the options in Server>Settings>Extras>Include Cinema Trailers , even for All movies.
  • I installed the newest version of the server, 1.14.1.5488 and deleted all the metadata in my userfolder on the harddisk and did a complete scan and refresh of the Metadata.
  • read several forum topics and tried most. Only with the hint of deactivating all the SSL processes I have no clue what is meant.
  • shout at the computer

Nothing worked. Does anybody has a Idea what to do? :confused:

The Trailer will be shown as single video:

The Trailer will disappear:

Though the support site states no space after the hyphen but the filename examples shows no spaces before and after the hyphen. Go figure, right…

Thanks NewPlaza for the idea.
This is not the issue. The space makes no difference.

In the meantime I did some testing:
Results:

  • It seems to be case sensitive whether another movie is in the same directory - then the trailers doesnt work anymore.
  • The space before the “-trailer” is irrelevant.
  • ** A unique subfolder for every movie is mandatory**
  • The name of the subfolder for each movie is irrelevant for plex.
