Tried it, moved P:\Plex Media Server to P:\Plex\Plex Media Server.
Same result.
Hm, then it must have other reasons why the update is failing.
There are log files written by both the installer and the Updater service.
Maybe they contain some clues?
Can’t seem to find any errors in the logs.
I am thinking of reinstalling the computer from scratch.
Will I lose the managed user (daughter) and invited user (wife)?
I know I will lose the watched status, but so be it.
If you store the registry branch, you can restore the necessary machineIDs.
The same goes for the watched info. You can probably save the bulk of it, by making a backup copy of the main database file (copy while server is shut down!).

Once you have set up the machine, import the registry info
and copy the saved database file into the newly created data folder.
When you movie the data folder again, point it to a folder and not to a root folder/naked drive letter.
I don’t trust the database, so I don’t want to restore that.
