Plex downloading metadata but not Posters or Backgrounds

This actually started a couple of months ago. Around the same time I moved my Plex Media Server folder to a new, bigger hard drive, and input the new path in plex settings. But I can be sure if that triggered it, as I don’t often add more stuff to plex anymore.

The problem:
New movies or TV shows will not download posters, but the metadata will download fine.

Things I’ve tried:
I kept the Plex Media Server folder in tact on the previous hard drive, and I tried changing the path back to that one to see if helped. It didn’t.

I checked in the settings for individual files to see if I could manually set a poster, but the list is empty.

I saw that a couple of months back this was a problem related to the TV database. Even though it’s happening to me with movies too, I tried switching my TV Shows to scrape with the Movie database and did the plex dance.

I tried rearranging the scrapers in the WebUI settings in various ways.

I read somewhere on reddit about deleting a file related to the TV Database from the appdata folder, but I couldn’t try this as I don’t have that folder or file in app data.

I’ve been reading topics for hours, and either I’m doing something wrong or this problem is something different. I saw in many of the other posts that logs were requested. I don’t mind providing them, but I’m not exactly sure where to get them as of this moment.

Thanks for any help!

“You moved your server folder” - does this mean that the Plex metadata folder now resides on a hard drive that is not formatted with the NTFS file system?
If that is the case, then this is your issue.

Wow, you nailed it! I bought a 6 terabyte media drive, external. Its the only one of my drives that are exFat, though I’m not sure why. I already tried reverting back to my old folder (which is thankfully still in tact), but it’s quite possible I was flustered and didn’t wait long enough. I’ll give it another go and report back. Can confirm that the old drive is NTFS.

Can confirm this was the culprit and the issue is resolved. It didn’t work the first time I changed the directory back to my old folder because even saving those changes in the settings didn’t complete the transition. I just had to log off and log back in to complete the settings change. It’s working now! Thanks again!
