Plex Downloads to Android Are VERY Slow

Server Version#: 1.24.4.5081
Player Version#: 8.24.0.28408 (a22828ef)

I am currently having an issue when trying to transfer files from my Plex server to my Galaxy Tab S7+. It is setup to use new download feature with original qualities, so it’s not transcoding. However when transferring files, they’re transferring at between 5-20mbps to the tablet. It took me nearly 6 hours to transfer 10gb’s worth of files.

Connected via wifi with a 1.2 Gbps connection speed (according to Android). If I transfer the file directly and not through Plex, I get speeds around 90-100MB/s. So it’s not an issue with connection, it’s something on the Plex server/client side slowing it down.

I’m going to assume you are saving to a sd card in the tablet?

In which case this is a known issue that has been going on since day 1 and seems to just be ignored now :frowning:

Yea, it is an SD card that it’s transferring to. Guess I’ll just have to transfer files manually and not use Plex. Takes WAY too long to be worth it going to SD card.

This definitely is the worst bug I’ve seen from Plex and I cannot understand how it’s still a production issue, let alone that it’s a forced upgrade. Please restore Synch until and unless the downloads service actually works with sd cards. I’ve been trying to download a playlist of songs for over a week and just realized I’d be better off using my device’s native player–that’s not where I want to be.
