Plex DVR a lot of bugs with HDHR

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to use HDhomerun Connect tuner to watch tv through Plex with my Shield (used as both server and player). I’m in France, so tv channels are in encoded in AVC HD.

I can watch live channels with Plex, but it’s really slow to tune (about 30 secs instead of 2 seconds with Android TV HDHR app). Is this normal ?

Then, i’m not able to watch channels which are not in encoded in 16/9 1:1 ratio, like “France 4” for example (encoded in 1440x1080 but intended to be displayed in 16/9). These channels are displayed in 4/3 and i can’t find how to change ratio and fit screen. The only way is to transcode.

Also, how can i switch langage and display subtitles with Shield ?

And finally… i can’t watch recorded shows in direct play because it’s incredibly long to start : more than 90 sec to buffer a recorded show, and buffering starts again if i FF or RW. I always have to transcode, and then it’s quicker to play (about 15sec). Why ?

Is anyone experiencing these troubles with Plex DVR ?

Have you tried the Beta Plex client? In the UK that’s fixed pretty much all my DVR recording playback problems.

Thanks, i’ll try… i just filled the form to suscribe beta, now i’ve to wait…

I couldn’t get any TS files to play at all with the Shield prior to the update. And they all work fine now, live TV works fine too.

The major change is almost everything can be direct played so it should speed things up.

do you know how long does it take to be accepted in the beta program ?
