I can’t figure out to get HD recordings of films to play correctly, even those recorded using the Plex DVR. The problem only arises when the film starts and not prior to that. Adverts play as normal up to the start of a film. I thought it may have something to do with refresh rates or even subtitles but have no clue what to do to sort it. The recordings can be played normally using other players like VLC. I’d be grateful for any help with this problem.
Using Plex as PVR requires the “paid for” service. Anybody else encountered this?
The latest update has not resolved this issue.
Any Plex Techs got a clue what to do? Why it can’t play its own HD recordings? No?

I get freezing and crashing when going into movies, like you say… and particularly when they have Dolby 5.1 transmissions… but I also get it just going in and out of some commercial breaks…
I don’t get it when using the HomeRun app and don’t know if it’s something to do with the bitstream output of the Shield…? I’ve yet to try something like a firestick to see if the problem is the same with plex player on that… Apple TV tends not to show the same problem, but then it doesn’t bitstream, so when using something other than the DVR/Live tv, obviously there’s no more atmos, and it’s nice to have it all being plated through the same box…
I can only assume that it’s something to do with Plex and the Shield… but any thoughts’ welcome. - and you are right, recent updates have made no difference.
Hi. This problem appears to have been resolved by recent updates. All recorded HD movies now play at normal speed. I did nothing for it to work correctly other than update the Plex software on the Shield. Thanks all for your input and to Plex techs.
