Synology DS1815+ DSM 6.0.2-8451 Update 9 with PMS version 1.4.2.3400 with SiliconDust HDHomeRun Prime.
Out of concern about any unknown issue with Plex I haven’t updated to DSM 6.1.
So basically what happens is that the Match info for a TV show and the art is lost after a new recording of the latest episode. So for example a show like Taboo on FX, Legion on FX, The Expanse on SyFy or Colony on USA network all look fine but a soon a new scheduled recording is done the match info meta data is gone. So no artwork but the files record and play fine.
Usually I just go back in and match the show again but its getting a little annoying. Any help with this would be great.
If any more info is needed just let me know.
Thanks in advance.

For now I’ve turned off the Plex DVR feature. Unfortunately some recordings were just being dropped so it wasn’t even a reliable backup recording box.
For what its worth. I had to upgrade the my DS1815+ to the latest version of DSM 6.1.1-15101 Update 2 because I am doing an advanced RMA and have already received the replacement NAS. This RMA was due to the Intel Atom C2000 series SoC AVR.54 errata (though I haven’t had a failure yet).
Anyway upgrading to the latest DSM is part of the migration process to migrate to a new DiskStation NAS so I had little choice.
I stopped the Plex service and enabled package installation from any publisher when doing the DSM upgrade. After the upgrade Plex Media Server wasn’t installed.
I reinstalled the Plex Media Server package version 1.5.6.3790 and it all seems to be working fine.
OK, I think I know at least part of the problem now.
It seems that the shows that lose their meta data have folders located in more then one place. So for example, a show such as “Preacher” season 1 (recorded and transcoded on a different system them moved to the NAS) has a folder on usbshare1 connected to the NAS. However, when a new episode is recorded via Plex DVR it goes to a folder called “Recorded TV” on volume1 internally on the NAS.
My guess is if I consolidate these folders by moving them over to the default recording folder for Plex DVR the issue will go away.
I was wondering why some shows would lose there meta data / art and others wouldn’t. This is the only theory that answers that question,…
So not sure if this is an oddity with my system, a bug in Plex or a “feature”,…
Currently running PMS Version 1.7.3.3937
Synology DSM Version 6.1.2-15132
Edit:
For what its worth I have started using Plex DVR again if that wasn’t clear before. I upgraded the firmware of my SiliconDust HDHomeRun Prime and that helped a great deal with dropped recordings. It’s been fairly solid for since the firmware upgrade. However, last night there was one missed recording “The Mist”. I need to take a look at the logs to see if I can find the cause.
Do you have both locations added to the library? I have 4 different locations. One drive/folder on a larger hrd drive, one drive/folder on my original recording drive, one for my Dropbox folder that Plex Cloud is linked to, and one for a drive/folder I use for DVR. Mcebuddy does post processing and moves the processed file to the larger drive. I then have a script that runs to move certain shows/seasons to the Dropbox drive/folder. I do not have any issue with metadata disappearing when I move the files around.

Yes both locations have been added to the library.
Not that it makes a difference but I am running Plex PMS off of a Synology NAS which runs Linux as the OS. I’m guessing you are running Windows.
I’ve installed PMS on my Server which runs Server2012 Essentials and I have not seen this issue there. However, I also have not run the Plex DVR on it.
Yes I’m running PMS on Windows 10. Thinking about it I do see something similar when I access my Plex Cloud Server. I typically have to “Match” at least one show it seems like at least once a week.
