Plex DVR channel scan not finding all QAM channels

Today I was playing around in my server settings and decided to check to see if the DVR supports my Hauppauge tuner card (identified by Device Manager on Windows 10 as HVR-1255 Model 22xxx, Hybrid ATSC/QAM). As of the latest server update it does recognize my card but says it is a WinTV-quadHD. With nothing to lose I decided to give it a shot and have it scan for channels (clear QAM cable). Here is where it gets interesting… I’ve been using NextPVR this way for months and it finds all the unencrypted channels I want/need…however Plex’s channel scan misses about half of them. I’ve disabled all the NextPVR services and all apps that could be grabbing the capture card as I read about in another thread and rescanned to no avail. Just wondering if this is a bug in Plex or just related to the fact that it has misidentified my card. Would definitely be willing to submit any logs or anything helpful especially if it got the HVR-1255 officially supported.

I am having a similar issue with a Hauppauge card. Plex scans for channels and does not detect any of the clear QAM channels. The only thing I get is a list of “protected” channels which cannot be added. The WinTV8 application finds all the QAM clear channels and I can record and watch them. The problem is, I want to use PLEX so that I can access them on any tv in the home.
