I am having frequent problems when trying to record programs. I would say that 30 -50% of them do not record in their entirety. For example, I set the DVR to record a 2-hr episode of American Idol with an additional 5 minutes before and after. Only 54 minutes recorded. That happened 2 weeks in a row for this show. Other programs have similar issues, eg, 19 minutes of a 30 minute program. The amount of time recorded varies. I am attaching log files to this post that include the date of recording of the American Idol episode, which was yesterday May 10th. I’m an engineer but not experienced in this type of media setup or coding scripts. I would certainly appreciate any help in getting this setup correctly. I’d be glad to provide any other information I can find about my setup. I followed the Plex setup instructions and can’t figure out what I may have done incorrectly or if my hardware is not sufficient for my setup.
BTW, my pc has Intel Core i7-4770 CPU @3.4GHz and 8GB ram. I use it exclusively for a media server. Nothing else typically runs on it except a backup program.
If I can’t record reliably, I need to find an alternative to Plex which would be a shame. I like everything else about the product. Thanks in advance!
