Plex DVR from LiveTV 2 issues: Misses 1 min from shows and cuts 1 min off back-to-back recordings

We’re encountering a few challenges with Plex DVR from LiveTV functionality. While the recording and storage aspects perform great, we’ve identified two distinct issues that need addressing or help to resolve:

  • Issue #1: We had configured several 30-minute sitcoms to record, yet each recording was consistently missing the final minute. In essence, Plex failed to capture the complete sitcom. In an attempt to rectify this issue, we accessed the Plex settings and extended the “Minutes to Record After” option by 1 minute.

  • Issue #2: Unfortunately, in the current setup, when two shows air consecutively (back-to-back recordings), the second show experiences the inconvenience of having its beginning/initial minute cut from it (example below).

    • Show 1 - 8:00 pm to 8:31 pm
    • Show 2 - 8:31 pm to 9:01 pm (missing the first minute)

I believe Plex should recognize that the shows are distinct entities and ensure that each one has the additional minute appended to it, thus avoiding any risk of truncating the following show.

Any ideas how to resolve?

Buy another HDHomeRun to have more tuners than concurrent recordings. The real problem is time differences and drift between the broadcaster and your server.

No other shows were recording; the device is a 4 tuner.

I stayed on 1.32.8.7639 until things stabilize with the new branch.

Added 1 minute to all my shows with several back to back recordings and did not have this issue. You will have to look at the Plex Media Server.log for messages regarding scheduling/scheduling conflict. If there were available tuners then it just should of used it unless it was in use externally.
