Plex DVR Playback - Incorrect episode plays when selecting most recent episode

I have two shows in particular that this happens with, NOVA and MotorWeek both PBS shows.

The recording takes place no problem. I see the recorded file in the file system and it plays no problem but when I go to play the file from the folder in any plex player it wont see the file or play the wrong file. Has anyone seen this? any way to fix this?

Can you provide more information? I know that Nova in the past has had major issues between the different data sources, PBS would list one season/episode set of data for an episode, The TVDB will more than likely list different data for the season/episode which causes Plex to not show the correct information for the show. Perhaps MotorWeek has a similar issue. I would suggest checking out TheTVDB for both shows to see if anything displayed there matches what you are seeing in Plex for both shows.

I am going to try and recreate the issue the best I can;

  1. Open plex app on Roku
  2. Select the most recent episode of recorded show (Pluto and Beyond (2019))…
  3. Episode starts (in example below.
  4. Check info of episode and it turns out to be the first recorded show of the series (Memory Hackers 2016).
  5. This happens every time I try to watch most recently recorded show.

I have never had a problem until recently.
The correct episode recorded, in my library, and is watchable on other players (vlc).

This is only an issue with roku, apple tv works just fine.
