Only about half of my DVR shows are successfully recorded and playable. Plex will show the episode as recorded but there is no file created.
I am using an HDHomerun Connect, which has lights telling you when a tuner is being used. While testing DVR recording I’ve noticed that the PLEX DVR will show shows as recording but none of my tuners are active. To me it seems there is a fault either with PLEX or my Connect that is stopping the video stream. PLEX thinks it is recording but there is nothing to record. I’ve had some half recordings as well, like it is cutting off mid episode.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Look at your Plex Media Server log files for any errors around the time of the recording.
You’ll have to bear with me I’m new to plex and trying to navigate these giant log files. Does anything below stand out.

You can download the logs and submit the zip file attached to this thread. Before downloading go into your settings and ensure that the Allow Plex Media Server tokens in logs is unchecked and saving if necessary.
After verifying that go to the Help option at the bottom of the server settings and click the Download Logs link.
Log Files Attached. Appreciate your help.

Masterchef
Jun 14, 2017 20:00:08.420 [3308] INFO - Notification: Recording MasterChef - E3 - America’s Grocery Bag -
Plex seems to think it completed:
Jun 14, 2017 20:03:39.689 [3308] DEBUG - DVR:Grabber: Postprocessing, we’re going to put MasterChef - E3 - America's Grocery Bag
in E:\Media\DVR\MasterChef (2010)\Season 13\MasterChef (2010) - S13E03 - America's Grocery Bag.mkv
Also see some other lines after that point that indicate Plex is updating metadata for the episode.
Jun 14, 2017 20:03:39.705 [3308] DEBUG - Added new metadata item (America’s Grocery Bag) with ID 30687
Jun 14, 2017 20:03:39.705 [3308] DEBUG - Updating metadata item (save) (America’s Grocery Bag) with ID 30687
Then a line that says the recording was a success:
Jun 14, 2017 20:03:45.736 [3308] DEBUG - DVR:Grabber: Operation for MasterChef - E3 - America’s Grocery Bag completed with status complete (Success)
Problem that I see is the show appears to start recording and end 3 minutes later:
Jun 14, 2017 20:00:00.913 [9072] DEBUG - DVR:Grabber: Starting operation for ‘MasterChef - E3 - America’s Grocery Bag’.
Jun 14, 2017 20:03:45.736 [3308] DEBUG - DVR:Grabber: Operation for MasterChef - E3 - America’s Grocery Bag completed with status complete (Success)
But it was supposed to record for 3596 seconds:
Jun 14, 2017 20:00:04.494 [9072] DEBUG - DVR:Grabber: Setting timer to stop grab of ‘MasterChef - E3 - America’s Grocery Bag’ in 3596 seconds.
Tagging a Plex Employee perhaps they can shed more light on the issue. @keithah
Perhaps they have some ideas of why a show would stop 3 minutes after starting to record.

Thanks for your time looking into the issue. I clicked the answered button in mistake, but hopefully @keithah has more insight into what is wrong.
