I have been testing 2025.30.0 (1388) and I have a few general observations I would like to share with the devs. Thank you for your hard work on this redesign. Overall, I love the new aesthetic.

  1. I am having some weird audio sync issues. Primarily when turning on/off subtitles the audio gets out of sync. I need to scrub the video forward/backward to get things to sync up again. I also encounter sync issues when using AirPods.

  2. I’d like to see an audio offset option in the player like what is available in the stable AppleTV app.

  3. The LiveTV function is missing a UI element to return to the current channel playing when browsing the guide. This UI element is in the production ATV app and the iOS app with the redesign.

  4. Also, LiveTV is missing the rich metadata of the current production app (Posters, etc). But that may be the design decision going forward - but just some feedback in general.

  5. I’d like an option to display the end time of a show/movie in the player. You can currently see this in the production AppleTV app and I’d like to see it incorporated into the redesign app as well.

    EDIT:

    I’d also like to suggest for the future a way to be able to play DV profile 8 videos like infuse can and to package atoms audio via LPCM so we get atmos audio like infuse as well. Not sure if this is going to be within scope - but I do appreciate how in this plex app the fake DV indicator is gone and it shows the appropriate HDR indicator for HDR content.

I have all of the above and would like tack on to weird issues in this version:

I have an issue where sometimes audio from one episode of a show will get overlayed onto the current episode. For instance I shuffle a series at night and sometimes I’ll wake up and the audio track of 2 or 3 episodes will be going on the current episode.

The app also seems to have really weird random crashes when clicking different menu items. Sometimes when loading live tv, others when switching libraries.

If we’re asking for features, please add a “Favorites” button. “Watchlist” is not the same as there is no way to shuffle from a watchlist item and no way to quickly get to a show… It takes you to current season/episode you last watched.
